But the thing about student teaching is, it is the only prep you will recieve before becoming a teacher. Now sure all of my classess that I have taken in the program have helped prepare me, and I have taught many lessons out in the field, but I have never been a full fledged teacher in charge of the classroom, and this will be my only opportunity to "practice" that before doing it for real. That is both exciting and nerveracking. Another thing about student teaching is it is the only thing principals and HR professionals have to go off of when they interview you and look at your application. You can have x amount of volunteering and work experience on your resume, but your student teaching portfolio is the only thing they can look at to determine if you are going to be a good teacher or not. And that is scary, it is a make it or break it scenario.
I am both nervous and excited about the future and what it holds. In a few months I am not really going to be a college student anymore because I will be student teaching, (although I don't officially graduate until April 2016). I have to start buying professional clothing, constructing units and lessons. It is all exciting, but a little bit scary to.
