1. Get Lots of Sleep
This is a REALLY hard one for students and I get that. During finals you want to stay up all night to study for that test or finish that project, but you will be much better off if you get sleep. Give yourself a time limit on studying or working on a project or paper and then go to sleep when you have hit that time limit. Lots of sleep will ensure you are rested and ready to go for your classess, tests and presentations.
2. Eat Healthy
This is also a hard one because you are often to tired and drained and don't have time to cook food so you end up just eating chips and cookies and anything that comes in a box or bag. But if you just spend a few minutes throwing together a salad or cooking some veggies you will feel much better. Eating healthy will give you more energy to be able to conquer everything you need to do
3. Find Some Good Music to Listen to
Music always makes me feel better and especially during finals. Put together a good playlist of songs to help you get through the week. These songs can help you realize that everything will be okay.
4. Exercise
This is hard but important. Even if you go to the gym for 20 minutes, you will do yourself some good because you will help clear your mind and reset your body allowing it to focus better
5. Go to the Library
I used to think the library was a silly place that no one actually went to and you would be considered wierd if you went. But I learned pretty quickly it's not. The library is an awesome place and schools have them for a reason. It is a great place that you can go to study for that test, write that paper or work on that project in silence. I often have a hard time focusing in my own room or dorm around other people. But if I go to the library and find a desk by myself I can actually get things done. So take advantage of the library. It is there for a reason and it is usually has extended hours during finals.
6. Do something creative
Whether it is drawing, cooking, or organizing, doing something creative is really great for your brain and can help you take a productive break from studying or writing. It can actually help you focus better when you return to your finals work.
7. Talk to other people
It is easy to just shut the world out during finals, but don't. Talk to your roommates and friends and let them know if you are feeling stressed or tired and maybe they can offer something to help you.
8. Plan something fun to do when you finish finals
This will not only help you celebrate, but this will give you something to look forward to as you go through finals. It is the "light at the end of the tunnel" marker.
9. Take advantage of study groups and writing centers
Most colleges have study groups for various classess that will meet during finals week. Take advantage of them. Also, if you are writing papers go to your writing center and get help. These resources will be great in helping you feel less stressed during finals.
10. Go to on campus activities
Most schools have activities happening during finals week. Make it a point to go to them. Leave your dorm and the library and make your way to the events. They will be fun and they will allow you to not get so stressed.
